Food at Fraoch Lodge and Local Dining Options

At Fraoch Lodge, we believe that great food is a vital part of your Highland adventure. Whether you’re fuelling up for a day of walking, cycling, or exploring the Cairngorms, or winding down after your adventures, you’ll find nourishing, locally inspired meals waiting for you.

Catering is provided by Scot Mountain Holidays.

If you prefer, we can also recommend local dining options where you can eat out.

Start your day with a generous breakfast served in our communal dining room.

Options typically include: porridge, homemade bread and jams, cereals, yogurt, and fresh fruit. Tea, coffee, and fruit juices are also available.

Cooked breakfast options are available at an additional charge. You will be offered the opportunity to add these when booking and also on arrival at the Lodge. Breakfast orders are taken the night before.

Heading out for the day? Let us prepare a delicious packed lunch so you can enjoy your adventures without worrying about where to eat.

A packed lunch typically includes: a homemade sandwich with imaginative fillings (potentially our homemade chutney), home-baked treat (cake, flapjack or cookies), fresh fruit, trail snacks (peanuts/energy balls), boiled egg, and a chocolate bar.

We offer a warming two-course dinner served at a shared table—perfect for exchanging stories with other guests.

Expect dishes like: lentil and root vegetable stew, local venison casserole, freshly baked bread or scores, fruit crumbles, custard, sticky toffee pudding, and homemade ice cream.

Self-Catering Facilities

Guests also have access to a small guest kitchen if you prefer to self-cater some of your meals.

There’s a fridge/freezer, hob, oven, microwave, and comprehensive cooking equipment available.

We even have a slow cooker and a food mixer for your use.
